NSV for Me!!

So, while Rhett was working this past Saturday, I had some exercising to make up for missing a couple of days last week due to my stupid hurt foot. I ended up walking on the treadmill for 75 min's. The first 30 were the hardest and I didn't think I'd make that! LOL...after that, it was all uphill!

When Rhett came home we had planned on taking a bike ride to the track to do our usual 2 miles. So that was like a 2.5 - 3 mile bike ride there, did our 2 miles, then biked the 2.5 - 3 miles home.

Now, I sometimes jog on the treadmill and I sometimes jog at the track. Thing is, cause of my legs, knees and foot (let's face it, i'm just getting old and falling apart!), I have never been able to make it far with the jogging. 1/2 lap at the most at various intervals. This time I walked fast the first lap, then started a jog for the 2nd. And kept going. And going. And going. I just kept saying "you can do this! 1 lap won't kill you." And I made it! And didn't need my asthma inhaler afterwards! LOL....Rhett had to actually jog 2.5 laps to catch up with me as I had started without him. We ended up walking the rest of the laps...but I wanted to see if I could do one more full lap jogging, so we ended up jogging the last lap as well. I made it around again without stopping.

And how did my body reward me?? Why, I gained 1.5 pounds from Saturday morning! LOLOL...ya just gotta laugh...

don't worry about the gain!! When you exercise like that, your muscle cells hold on to water like crazy. It's different from regular water retention---and it usually disappears quickly. Some people take creatine to make their muscles hold water--it plumps them up and makes them look bigger.
It sucks to do all that exercise though,just to find out you've GAINED. Actually, I'm so impressed by what you guys did, it makes me feel ashamed of myself!!

Muscle weight much more than fat. When you walk, you are bulding leg muscles. So good for you! And that in itself will burn fat. You have nothing to worry about probably-but it's great that you keep in shape and keep the ticker in good condition!

Girl, you are such a hoot!! That's just great that you did all that and then some...did you check your pockets before weighing? Maybe you had one of your rocks in it and it caused the 1.5 lb gain!! Jan, forget the number on the scale. That is a whole heaping bunch of exercise you did there. I can tell that getting all that in made you feel pretty damn good. So, don't worry. It will pay off eventually.

I finally found you. LOL I looked at something else and took me to someplace where there were no blogs. Its cool though. I found you. Wondering which track you walk at. I am in Sac also and just seeing where everyone is and how close they r. I spend most of my time in Natomas (well Main & Norwood. Where are u located??
