Happy New Year, Everyone!!

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!!
May we all lose our unwanted poundage in 2006!
I've added a new link for Jeanenne (WantMyBodyBack).
Go check out her blog, it's great! And she's doing awesome with her weight loss! Go Jeanenne! :-)
Hey Tressa! I found your prize today at the mall! hehehe...I love it! I hope you do too! Now I just gotta find something for Edith and Jen. This is soo much fun! Next year it should be better cause we will start earlier and I will have everyone email me the answers. Altho I would like to figure out a different twist to it as all you guys will do is go back in the archives and see who owns what wall, etc! LOLOL...I'm thinking up something for Valentine's Day per Jen's request.
The flooding here last night and today was amazing! We ventured out this afternoon to the Downtown Plaza Mall to pick up my mom's and my glasses from LensCrafters. I took along my camera to get some shots of the Sacramento River that is overflowing. They had to open the Sacramento Weir today to relieve some of the flooding. This means that here in West Sacramento, we are now surrounded by water and are essentially an "island".
It's 9pm as i'm writing this and I hear fireworks going off nearby. :-)
Here are a few pics of the Sacramento River today:

Here is the Delta King were we got married (sorry Tina!). Downtown is behind it. Bob, that large black building middle right is where I believe your firm opened it's Sacto Office. We call it the Darth Vadar building. On the extreme right hand side is another black building. That's where I work. The Downtown mall is right there too.

Looking to my left is the I Street Bridge:

When the water level gets to 27 ft under this bridge, they open the Sacramento Weir. Which is what they had to do today. They opened 20 of the 48 gates to relieve the river. The last time they opened any gates was 1997. They only opened 16 then. They may have to open more after this next storm heading in.

Looking to my right is the Tower Bridge:

I travel across this bridge every morning and night to get to and from work. As you can see, the water is quite high right now! I'm taking these pics from the River Walk. Our large pyramid building is directly behind me. You can see a bench right here under water. I'm guessing it was completely submerged earlier this morning as we can see the debris line on the grass from before they opened the weir:

Hard to tell, but that "yellow" looking line on the grass is from where the water level was before they opened the weir.

Ok! That's my final post for 2005!

And lucky me ~ I just started TOM! (sorry Bob!) hehehe...

Holy shit!! I can't believe how high the water is under the bridge. You couldn't get me to drive over it. "The island of W. Sacramento". Hmmmmm. Sounds weird. We got us a mess up here too, but I'm sure as hell not going out in it to take pics!

Holy crap Jan! That's impressive. I'm glad your home wasn't affected. Great pics though. I saw some guy wading through his house on the weather channel. Pretty bad. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Jan!

That's some serious flooding. You do know that one day California is just going to fall off the damn continent, don't you? That should be fun.

Wedding and TOM talk all in one post!? Jesus H.

Happy New Year, Jan. I would write more, but I can't see anymore because the end of your post blinded me. Thanks for that.

Amazing pics - thanks for sharing! Bob just needs to send some palm trees to your "island" and you can take a vacation.
Stay dry!
Happy new year too!

Better late than never...
Happy New Year hun'!

ok... This is funny. Remember when you used to have the same period cicle as your friends in high school? Well I say it's weird because my cicle is the same as you and Sheryl... Thant's crazy.
