So my last TOM was the first of Feb. and then March came and nothing. Went thru all the symptoms, but nothing. It tried to start the first week and I had THE WORST PMS of my entire life, but nothing. Today was my pre-op appt and since I had missed my period, my dr. wanted a pregnancy test. LOL...since Rob was fixed going on 13 yrs ago, it's a good thing I wasn't!
Everything is going good leading up to the BIG DAY. I can't believe it's already almost next Friday! This month has flown by. The temp working my job while I'm out started on the 6th and has "taken over my desk and my work life" without any problems. Last week was weird for me. I felt like I was being stalked. She was with me all day, everyday. Even went to the loo with me! Ugh. Couldn't even take a pee by myself! I felt smothered. I don't spend that much time with my husband, for Christ's sake! And she would stand behind me and read my personal emails to friends, KNOWING I was typing a personal email! By Friday, she pretty much had it all down on what to do and she was doing it on her own. I have basicly been sitting in my other office chair being lazy. And bored. And lazy. And bored. And did I mention I was bored? So finally on Tuesday, I went and turned on the extra computer in another's office and have used that off and on to work on a few things before I leave for 6 weeks, starting next Wed.
I'm actually starting to be happy that I will be gone for that long. I think it will do me some good to be away from work for longer than just 1 weeks vacation time. At first I felt like I was being replaced, but now this week I'm more ok with the whole thing and can't wait for it to start. I don't want the surgery, but just the time off. LOL...
So the pre-op appt went well today and everything is looking good. I got my chest xray today as well. Next Wed, I go to the hospital to have my blood work done, etc and then that's it. I'm 2nd in line on Friday morning. And if the girl having her surgery done before me cancels or they can't do it for some reason, I will be first in line. Mine will probably be around 9:30 - 10am and I will need to be there an hour or so before that so they can show me my room and prep me. The cut will be about 6 inches long and in my crease line below my fat belly roll. LOL...I asked her suck out some fat while she's there but she laughed at me! The nerve! hehe....the surgery will take about 1.5 hrs.
The first 2 weeks I can't drive. The entire 6 weeks I can't lift, push, pull or carry anything heavy. I can however use the treadmill to walk on. No incline, no running, no fast walking. But she encourages normal walking - around the block or treadmill. So at least my legs won't get all lazy again during my recovery. The first couple days will be painful (seriously allergic to pain, so not looking fwd to this part!). Hospital stay will be 1-3 days, depending on how well I'm coping. If I'm up and walking around some that night, then the better off I will be to leave earlier. My dr. emailed in my Vicadin prescription today while I was there and I already picked them up for post-surgery pain when I get home.
I should be good by 4 weeks - I have plans to take the wedding portraits of a co-worker's daughter if I'm up to it. I really want to do this as I love taking pics and want to use my new camera. :-) Speaking of taking pics, I took some new cute ones tonight of the girls that I thought I'd share.

When those cats stare at the camera like that I think they're gonna jump out and claw me. LOL. (I'm not paranoid or anything)...
I'm glad that all this surgery stuff will be over soon and then you won't have to worry about all these things anymore. I'm sorry for all the stress (and the "stalker" at work)! LOL. Is it selfish of me to hope you recover very quickly and get back home soon so you can start e-mailing again? LOL, yes, that does sound selfish I guess! HeHe.

sounds like you have everything under control. It does seem like this month has really disapeared fast though. I was just thinking about you and your surgery and your birthday this morning. I am glad you are keeping your spirits up. It will all be over soon and you will feel so much better when it is over. I really do.
Being sick every month just sucked for me, I am glad to have it behind me.
I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers though...

Man, those cats look pissed! You can tell they're sweet though--I love the pic of them together.
I'll be glad when you're home after surgery...Then we can bug you all day with emails and phone calls. Heehee. I hope you have a really fast recovery so you can actually enjoy some of that time off. And BTW---don't forget to milk it for all it's worth! No housework, no cooking, no laundry, no filling your own water bottles, etc.

I love the photo where they are sitting together. That is so cute! I'm glad you're not preggers. That would have really messed up the plans, yeah? Relax and be good to yourself. I'm sure the surgery will be a-ok, and then no more periods. Oh to have no more periods......

Jan, good luck with the surgery. Vicadin is great stuff and that should deal with the pain nicely! Sounds like it is a slow recovery, I hope it goes by quickly. As for the wedding portraits, I would really like to see them. I did one wedding, and it was my last. WAY to much stress and I don't do people well.
