The past couple weeks I have decided I'm just thru with saying I'm on a diet. I hate that word. It immediately sends my brain into "oh my god! I'm going to starve!" mode. Which immediately causes me to F.A.I.L. As you all know, I'm also sick of NS. I may buy the occasional snack from them. But the autoship got cancelled forever the first week of Feb. Now I'm just doing it on my own. I'm using what I learned from them, what I have done in the past and just what works out best for me. Now that I have come to this realization, I am sooo freakin' relieved! What a HUGE ass load off my mind. I'm not going to worry about counting calories, but I will keep track for a time so I get used to what I have and what I like. I have sooo missed cooking, baking, etc. I'm going to start using Amy's and Christina's recipes more as my entrees. The add~ons are easy, it's coming up with the entree that can be time consuming. But hey, they have done all my leg work for me! LOL...and I have found some stuff too on my own. The way I'm eating now, I don't feel like i'm on a diet. I'm not even going to try and stay at 1200. In thinking back over the years, I lost the most weight by eating anywhere in the 1200-1500 range. And doing 4 days a week exercise. While I haven't gotten back full force on the exercise, I plan too soon. My surgery date is now set for March 24th. I would like to be "back" in the 160s for that. Totally doable. The following pics I took on Wed., to show you what I ate that day. Oh, and if I want a flippin' piece of chocolate, I will! And I won't allow myself to feel guilty any longer of eating something I shouldn't. Is that really any way to live? BTW ~ I don't eat chocolate as in "candy bars that are 250 calories or more". I get these Trader Joe's Dark or Milk Chocolate Truffle bars and only eat 1 square at a time. 1 square that is only 25 calories, doesn't make me feel quilty, and I eat it very slowly, sucking on it and can get 4 or 5 bites out of it and when I'm finished my chocolate craving is gone.
Ok, here's what I did Wed.:

Breakfast: 99% FF waffles, SF syrup, Strawberries, FF cool whip & 8oz. of FF milk
Calories: 360 (a little high, but breakfast is suppose to be higher to jump start our metabolism, plus I don't eat this everyday). Today's breakfast was only 290-300 range.

Lunch: Turkey Burger w/low-cal multi~grain bread, FF cheese slice, mustard/ketchup, salad w/LF dressing & cucumber, SF jello cup.
Calories: 413

Afternoon Snack: FF blackberry yogurt w/strawberries/FF cool whip mixed in. I know! I'm weird! But I love mixing it all together first! LOL..
Calories: 135

Dinner: Trader Joe's Bambino pizza (better stats than the NS thick crust!), broccoli, salad with LF dressing & just a pinch of nuts (sunflower & sliced almonds), diet Vanilla Pepsi.
Calories: 355
Calories: 120
So, my daily total was: 1383 calories
Totally within my range! Yee~Haw!
Oh! Add 100 oz. of water to that as well!
Hey people, as long as i'm not eating fast food, etc. and I'm making my own meals and choosing sugar free, fat free, low fat, etc. alternatives, then I feel pretty good!
Monday's Weight: 176 (I'm sooo ashamed! But I'm passed that & moving on!)
Thursday's Weight: 173

Jan,
What I wanna know is how you find time to work, eat, AND take fabulous pics of all your food. LOL Anyway, thanks for making me hungry again. Just what I needed! :)
Amy
LOL... i KNEW you'd be hungry again! hehehe...that was my evil plan all along...and you fell right into my trap! bwah~ha~ha! ;)
Good for you -- diets don't work! Read "Intuitive Eating" by Evelyn Tribole for some reinforcement.
Damn, girl, that looks good. All of it! I do the same thing with my yogurt! Yoplait's new ff sf thick and creamy style with some berries and ff coolwhip. I love the lime flavor yogurt---tastes like key lime pie when you add coolwhip. Your breakfast looks yummy, too. And who doesn't love eskimo pies??!?!?
Man, next trip to the store I am looking for those 'Heaven-on-a-Stick!' ice creams!!!
Ya know, it sure sounds like your 'diet' has turned into a lifestyle change, which is the ultimate goal! (along with the scale, of course) Wooo Hooo....You have totally inspired me! Thank you......Your going to do awesome!
Yummy! That looks so good!

Your food looks great! I used many of their recipes over the summer, and they are really good. I'm sure you'll do great on your plan. You just have to do what works for you. And it can't just be a diet or you will fail, so I love how you've embraced a new mindset. You go girl. And good job with the exercise. You're doing great!
